Jackie Lo is a San Diego-based artist, educator and co-founder of the Women Soaring Project. Her paintings explore the inconsistencies of language and what is lost in translation. By documenting the signage displayed in ethnic enclaves, her work reflects the hybrid identity and dual consciousness of immigrants. Jackie holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Printmaking from San Diego State University (SDSU) and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Visual Arts Studio from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Jackie currently teaches as an art professor at SDSU, MiraCosta College and Southwestern College.
